The Last Caretaker Continuity Token: Where to Scan It, How to Build It and Where It Goes
Short answer: The Continuity Token opens the Transfer Gate at the Lazarus Complex. The original stands on a pedestal in the sealed Project Crossing room, one floor above the entrance elevator. Scan it to unlock the recipe, build your own copy from 4 Quantum Crystals, then fit it into the slot on the Gate platform on the roof. Charge the Gate and pick North Bastion (10.15.8.19) on the console.
Game version: Early Access, Update 6 (October 19, 2026); evidence from the public beta (October 9–11) to October 24, 2026
Where the Continuity Token Is
What is the Continuity Token?
The Continuity Token is the quest item that opens the Transfer Gate at the Lazarus Complex. In Update 6’s Project Crossing quest you scan the original, build a copy of your own and fit that copy into the Gate’s platform on the roof.
It is not a fast-travel button in a menu. The Gate stands in the world with its own systems, hardware and requirements, and it needs power and a destination address before it opens.

Where is the Continuity Token?
It is in the sealed Project Crossing room of the Lazarus Complex, a control room one floor above the entrance elevator. Ride that elevator up from the entrance, then climb the ladder beside it into the room.
The quest panel reads "Investigate the sealed PROJECT CROSSING room", then "Scan the Continuity Token". The token sits on a pedestal in the middle of that room, and the scan prompt says to hold the scan key.
The quest and its voice line only start once you walk into that room.

How to Build It
Do you take the token or build your own?
Scanning the token unlocks its recipe. You leave the original where it is and build your own Continuity Token from the build menu.
What is the Continuity Token recipe?
The recipe takes 4 Quantum Crystals.
In the beta the build menu also shows 2 Wh of electricity and 36 seconds to make it; the release-build data lists a different time and energy cost, so check your own build menu.

Where do you get Quantum Crystals?
Quantum Crystal comes from Quantum Crystal Nuggets, which you get by mining Quantum Crystal Ore. It is an Artifact-rarity material.
If you are short of crystals, there are four more places: each of the three Spires holds a few; a Quantum Duplicator from the rewards for sending humans to space recycles into 1 Quantum Crystal; the Recovery Grinder sometimes turns Plasma Gel or Neutronium into Quantum Crystal; and green-glowing crystals near the Quarantine Stacks at night can be shot down.

Putting It Into the Transfer Gate
Where do you put the Continuity Token?
Take the token up to the roof with the large elevator and put it into the slot on the Transfer Gate platform; it slides down until it sits flush. The platform itself needs repairing as well.

What does the Gate need after the token?
In the Update 6 beta, the quest asks you to put 216 kWh into the Gate, and the Gate stores up to 1.00 MWh. A 0.56 MWh charge opens it to North Bastion for the full 3 minutes; extra charge does not keep it open longer.
10.15.8.19. In the Update 6 beta, the Gate console lists North Bastion Transfer Gate (10.15.8.19) next to Lazarus Complex Transfer Gate (10.15.1.10), and the quest step reads "Activate the Transfer gate using 10.15.8.19".

How do you get back from North Bastion?
When a Gate is open, its console offers Recall, which sends you back to your starting point; the return does not cost another crossing.

Is the Continuity Token the same as the Oath Token?
No. The Oath Token is a memory item from The Fourth Chamber that raises all ten of a human’s attributes while it grows. The Continuity Token is the Project Crossing quest item that opens the Transfer Gate, and you build it yourself.
