The Last Caretaker Update 7: Release Date, Roadmap and What We Know

No. Channel37 has not announced a release date for Update 7. Its roadmap, last updated on September 9, 2026, lists Updates 7, 8 and 9 as classified, and 1.0 follows them in spring 2027.

Channel37 has not said yet. The roadmap keeps Updates 7, 8 and 9 classified, and its September 9, 2026 announcement says the rest of the content before 1.0 is still under wraps.

Early Access began on November 6, 2025. Updates followed on December 16, 2025 (Update 01), February 11, 2026 (Update 02), March 18, 2026 (Update 03), April 15, 2026 (Update 3.5), May 13, 2026 (Update 4), June 24, 2026 (Update 5.0), August 31, 2026 (Update 5.5) and October 19, 2026 (Update 6), so the gaps ran from 28 to 68 days. Counting the same 28 to 68 days from October 19, 2026 gives November 16 to December 26, 2026; that is our arithmetic, not a date from Channel37.

The numbered updates alone came 35 to 117 days apart. The longest wait was between Update 5.0 and Update 6, and Channel37 filled it with the surprise Update 5.5.

Sometimes. Update 6 went to a public beta branch on October 9, 2026, ten days before its October 19 release. Update 3.5 and Update 5.5 arrived as surprise updates, released outside the original plan with no date given in advance.

Three numbered updates are on the roadmap: Updates 7, 8 and 9, all still classified. Then 1.0 arrives in spring 2027, on PC and Xbox at the same time and playable on Xbox Game Pass from day one.

Update 6, The Jump, released on October 19, 2026 (build 0.10.0.653173). Channel37 counts it as the eighth update since Early Access began.

Channel37 posts each update on Steam news and on the news page of its website, and it runs weekly developer livestreams on YouTube and Twitch.
