Is The Last Caretaker Multiplayer? Co-op Status and What Channel37 Has Said
No. The Last Caretaker is a single-player game, and Channel37 has not announced a multiplayer or co-op mode. In October 2025 its community manager said the team was looking into ways to add some form of multiplayer in the future, but no mode or date has been announced, and the official roadmap to 1.0 does not list one. Update 6, released on October 19, 2026, did not change that.

Is There a Multiplayer Mod?
Not confirmed yet. Checked October 26, 2026.
Only experiments so far. An unofficial co-op mod from July 2026 shows the other player moving around your world and keeps doors in sync between two PCs, but does not sync items yet; it was made for build 0.8.0, well before Update 6. An earlier fan project from January 2026 is a technical experiment in syncing two players' positions. Neither comes from Channel37 and we have not tested them. A third-party toolkit, CaretakerMP, advertises a Windows launcher, server hosting, a server browser, invites and world sync; its site was down when we checked on October 26, 2026, and we have not tested it.
Both ask you to run scripts or inject code into the game. Back up your saves first, and only run code you have read or trust.
Playing Solo in the Meantime
Until Channel37 announces a mode, you play alone. If you are starting out, the first 10 hours guide covers what to unlock first, the interactive map shows where the key places are, and the update tracker will list any multiplayer announcement the day it appears.
Multiplayer FAQ
Is The Last Caretaker multiplayer?
No. It is a single-player game: the Steam store page lists Single-player and no multiplayer or co-op features.
Will The Last Caretaker get co-op?
Maybe later, but nothing has been announced. In October 2025 Channel37's community manager said the team was looking into ways to add some form of multiplayer in the future, and the roadmap to 1.0, updated September 9, 2026, does not list it.
Can I play The Last Caretaker with friends?
Not in the same game. There is no official multiplayer or co-op mode, so each player plays a separate single-player game.
Is there a multiplayer mod for The Last Caretaker?
Only unofficial ones. Fans have published co-op experiments and a multiplayer toolkit, but none comes from Channel37 or is supported by it; the game itself stays single-player.
How do you unlock co-op mode?
You can’t: there is no co-op mode in the game to unlock, in Update 6 or before. Channel37 has only said the team is looking into some form of multiplayer for the future.
Are there servers for The Last Caretaker?
No official ones. The game is single-player, so Channel37 runs no multiplayer servers.

No. There is no co-op mode, which German players look for as Koop: The Last Caretaker is single-player, and Channel37 has only said the team is looking into some form of multiplayer for the future.
Is multiplayer coming with 1.0?
Channel37 has not said so. The 1.0 announcement covers PC and Xbox, with Game Pass, in spring 2027 and does not mention multiplayer.
Did Update 6 add multiplayer?
No. Update 6, released on October 19, 2026, adds North Bastion, the Transfer Gate, the cold and heaters, and neither its announcement nor its full patch notes mention multiplayer or co-op.
Does "you're not alone anymore" in Update 03 mean co-op?
No. Update 03 added support gameplay, the Sweetheart grenade, a craftable Sweetheart item and a friendly swarm type, not other players.
