Power
How to Power the Lazarus Racks
Short answer: the wall sockets downstairs don’t power the racks. Run cable down the elevator shaft from the roof, or use a petrol generator.
Use the solar panels and wind turbines you repaired on the roof, and fix an extender to the shaft wall before each 20 m cable section runs out. Connected, but a rack still says No Power? Check its fresh water first, then work through the Still No Power? checklist.
The power routes date from November 2025 to January 2026. The No Power checks come from Channel37’s support page, updated September 8, 2026. Fixes that are not confirmed yet are marked.
Game version: Update 5.5 (Early Access 0.8.5). Not yet rechecked in Update 6, released October 19, 2026.
Where the Rack Power Comes From
The downstairs wall sockets won’t do it. They do not supply power to the Lazarus racks, so you have to bring power to the racks yourself.
1. Run power down from the roof. Repair the broken solar panels and wind turbines on the roof or the control-room balcony, then use extenders to run cable down the elevator shaft to the racks.
Plan the drop in sections. Each Electric Cable section spans up to 20 m, so fix an extender to the shaft wall before a section runs out.
2. Or power the racks where they stand. Place a petrol generator beside the racks instead of running cable from the roof.
Count the cable sections and extenders for a straight run with the power grid and cable calculator.
How Much Power a Rack Needs
About 10.0 kWh to grow one human. The rack’s Estimation screen shows 10.0 kWh as the estimated electricity to grow one human. This is a growth energy estimate, not the rack’s continuous power draw. It stays the same whatever food and memory items you load.
One powered rack is enough to start. You do not need all 4 racks running at once. A seed can remain on a powered rack with fresh water while you grow humans one at a time. A seeded rack uses 100 L/h of water in standby.
Still No Power?
Work down this list. The four checks come from Channel37’s support page; the fixes below them are not confirmed yet.
1. Check the fresh water first
A Lazarus rack also shows “No Power” when it has no working fresh-water supply. If the water is connected, save and reload, then try again, or recover a previous auto-save. The fresh water step in the Lazarus guide shows how much a rack needs.
2. Reconnect after the known bug
If the building shows as unpowered even though your setup works, Channel37 lists it as a known bug: disconnect the power, save the game, close and relaunch it, then reconnect the power. If that fails, recover a previous auto-save.
3. One cable per port
Two cables on the same connector port is another known bug. Remove one end with E and the other with a left-click, reel the cable in with Q, then connect a new cable.
4. Check supply and flow direction
Verify that every connection is made, that you are generating enough power, and that power flows the right way on every connection.
Not confirmed yet
A cable that only looks connected. A cable can look connected when it is not. A cable connected at both ends shows icons on it; no icons means one end is loose.
A cable in the wrong mode. An outage can come from cable modes: input, output and equalize switched around, which takes disconnecting and refitting the cables, or one cable set the wrong way round by accident.

Once the Racks Have Power
With power and fresh water in place, the Lazarus Complex guide walks through food, memory items and the seed run, and the human calculator works out a human’s attributes from the food you load.
Lazarus Power FAQ
What is the best way to power Lazarus?
Bring power to the racks yourself; the wall sockets downstairs do not supply them. There are two ways. Repair the broken solar panels and wind turbines on the roof or the control-room balcony, then use extenders to run cable down the elevator shaft to the racks. Or place a petrol generator beside the racks instead of running cable from the roof. Repaired solar panels and wind turbines need no fuel, while a generator saves the long cable run but burns petrol. The rack’s Estimation screen shows 10.0 kWh as the estimated electricity to grow one human. This is a growth energy estimate, not the rack’s continuous power draw. It stays the same whatever food and memory items you load.
Do the wall sockets in the Lazarus Complex power the racks?
No. The wall sockets downstairs do not supply power to the Lazarus racks, so you have to bring power to the racks yourself.
How do I get power down to the Lazarus racks?
Repair the broken solar panels and wind turbines on the roof or the control-room balcony, then use extenders to run cable down the elevator shaft to the racks. Each Electric Cable section spans up to 20 m, so fix an extender to the shaft wall before a section runs out. Or place a petrol generator beside the racks instead of running cable from the roof.
Why does my Lazarus rack say No Power when it is connected?
Channel37’s support page lists four checks: a rack also shows No Power without a working fresh-water supply; a known bug can show a working setup as unpowered, so disconnect the power, save, relaunch the game and reconnect; two cables on one connector port is another known bug; and every connection needs enough power flowing the right way.
How much electricity does a Lazarus rack need?
The rack’s Estimation screen shows 10.0 kWh as the estimated electricity to grow one human. This is a growth energy estimate, not the rack’s continuous power draw. It stays the same whatever food and memory items you load.
